It’s a great way to customize the look of your rain chain while still getting the water flow you need. There are just a few things to keep in mind when choosing which styles to combine: cup compatibility and water flow.
There a a few styles that can be combined to create a unique look without sacrificing functionality. If you like a square cup-style rain chain, the Medium Square Cups Rain Chain in Aged Copper is the same size, shape, and material as the Slotted Square Cups Rain Chain. Combining these two chains will allow you to create a unique look by alternating the cups in a pattern of your choosing. This makes it easy to combine different the different cup designs to create a one-of-a-kind look.

The Autumn Oak Rain Chain and the Acorn Cups Rain Chain are the same shape and style cup, so it's possible to combine the two chains if you prefer some of the cups in your rain chain to be without the oak leaves.
The Dragonfly Rain Chain, Butterfly Rain Chain, and Hummingbird Rain Chains are the same base cup so those can also be combined in any pattern to create a one-of-a-kind look.
The Nautical Cups Rain Chain, Sun & Moon Cups Rain Chain, and the Wave & Dolphin Rain Chains are the same base cup as well. These designs can also be combined in any pattern if desired.

If you prefer to mix and match your rain chain cups, the style combinations listed above are the recommended options. Since the specified cup combinations match in shape and dimension, they're compatible and waterflow shouldn't be affected much by alternating the cups. The top wire connectors are also compatible for the styles listed so they can be connected together without issue. We do not recommend combining other styles, because functionality and durability could be significantly impacted.
Ordering the right lengths is simple! Just divide your total desired footage by the number of rain chains you want to combine, then order that length of each style.
For example, if you need a total of 24 feet and want to combine three different rain chain styles, you can order approximately 8 feet of each style.
It’s always best to order a little extra length so you don’t end up coming up short.
Keep in mind, many specialty designs, such as Origami and Singing Bowls, are not interchangeable with cup-style rain chains.
